Nike Names Its New World Headquarters After Serena Willimas
2017 has been a super amazing year for Serena Williams: she won a grand slam, had a baby, got married, and now she has revealed that top sportswear company, Nike, will be naming one of its new headquarters at Beaverton, Oregon, after her.
“Nike announced yesterday that one of its new world headquarters buildings will be named after me. It will be the biggest on campus and is scheduled to open in 2019,” said the tennis goddess, adding, “I am honored and grateful! ”
The world’s former no. 1 is set to return to the court after taking a break to have her child.
Recall that she was 20 weeks pregnant when she won this year’s Australia Open and in September, welcomed her daughter with Alexis Ohanian. The couple married at a lavish fairy tale-themed wedding in November in Atlanta, and while she is set to make a comeback at the 2018 Australia Grand Slam, Nike honoured her with this necessary gift.
And fans are super stoked for her.
