Brother Love : ‘I was Joking!’- Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Says
So, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has not changed his name after all.
Recall that days ago when he turned 48, the rap guru shared a video announcing that he should henceforth be called ‘Love’ or ‘Brother Love’, that he no longer connects with ‘Diddy’.
“I decided to change my name again,” he said, adding, “I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. Some new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puffy Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love.”
He has now returned to say he was only joking with the internet, and why are you guys taking things so serious? Hian!
“Well ladies and gentlemen, today I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the Internet,” he began in the recent video. “Due to an overwhelming response from the media out there and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. I didn’t change my name. It’s just part of one of my alter egos.”
He continued in the new Instagram video, saying, “To set the record straight—because I have a lot of press to do the next couple of weeks—you can address me by any of my older names but if you still want to call me Love, you can call me Love baby but I was only playing.”
The rap boss chose the moniker ‘Puff Daddy’ in 1997, and a year later, he returned to using ‘Sean John’ which he had been known as in Harlem. In 1999, he whipped out a new name out of his hat, going with ‘Puffy’, later, it was ‘P.Diddy’.
‘Diddy’ came years after and outlived the others until the birthday joke. Well, it seems ‘Love’ has stuck because folks are all over his post, calling him Diddy Love, Puffy Love, Brother Love; it is simply hilarious.
Whatever the case may be, Diddy is out here spreading love!
