The Presiding Bishop, Victory International Church, Worldwide, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, has said that the economic recession Nigeria is facing is not peculiar to the country.
Speaking in Ibadan, Oyo State, during a press conference heralding the church’s annual Rehoboth programme, themed: “Amazing Wonders,” Adelakun said there were many countries going through tougher times than what is happening in Nigeria.
In a statement on Friday, he said, “All we need to do is to be prayerful, be closer to God and look forward to greater days ahead. These happenings are not restricted to Nigeria. It is a global phenomenon and Jesus talked about it in the Bible when he told his disciples that before his coming, things will be hard. But he said it will be short, because if it were not like that, even the elite won’t survive.
“We have never heard a situation in Nigeria where civil servants are not paid for seven months.”
