Video: Mr 2Kay Says Burna Boy Has Been Apologising for the Robbery Attack
Mr 2Kay has finally broken his silence weeks after he was violently attacked by men allegedly sent by his rival, Burna Boy.
Speaking with LIB TV, the singer recounted the history of his rivalry with Burna Boy which started after he called out the dancehall singer for dissing Nigerian preachers and how Burna Boy later threatened him via Instagram DM.
2Kay said he invited Timaya to mediate, however Burna was not ready for peace.
In October, 2Kay was attacked and robbed by assailants (including Burna’s road manager Joel) allegedly sent by Burna Boy, and the dancehall singer has since been on the run after the police declared him a wanted man.
Though Burna’s team had denied his involvement in the attack, 2Kay says he has been calling and apologising for the attack.
“Burna Boy’s people have been talking to my management, and Burna Boy has actually reached out to me himself. He called me. He has been apologising and also denying that he is not the one [who masterminded the attack],” said 2Kay.
Asked what Burna was apologising for since he denies ordering the attack, 2Kay said, “He is apologising, saying he is sorry for how the whole thing went, how I was mistreated, how I was beaten, and everything.”
And when asked to clarify if Burna was only sympathising, 2Kay emphatically said, “He said he sincerely apologise, [and] he said he was never involved, that his [road] manager Joel did that on his own, that he did not tell him to do that. He said, maybe, Joel saw how he was angry about the whole [Nigerian] pastors stuff.”
2Kay continued, saying, “So, what he means is that Joel, a road manager, took the whole agony upon his own self, that’s what Burna is saying. But Burna Boy is still apologising.”
And he said more about the court proceedings, the police investigation, and more.
