Boko Haram: Several Feared Dead as Twin Bombs Hit Borno State
Another set of bomb explosions have hit Borno state, this time in the state’s third largest town,Biu.
According to witnesses, the first explosion happened inside the Biu market, while the second explosion hit close to the market at about 11.30am (Saturday).
According to this report by Sunnews, a hospital source confirmed that the corpses of 15 victims were taken to Biu General Hospital, and 47 persons were also injured in the bomb blast.
The North eastern state of Borno has in recent months been under a steady barrage of bombs attacks from the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram, even as the Nigerian Army continues to claim victory in its war against the extremist group.
Although no one has claimed responsibility for this last attack, these twin explosions are reminiscent of similar recent attacks by the terrorist group.
