When luck beckoned on this favoured beauty, little did she know her dream has become a reality. It’s always the case with most pageant winners who unceremoniously sob after being declared a winner. You can call it a cry of mixed feelings of joy, pains and surprises, but the reality is a queen has emerged.
This was the sweet story of Maryann Oyindamola Ajomole when she was declared winner of Face of Nigeria World Beauty Pageant 2017 on November 4 at Bespoke Event Center, Lekki venue for the finals amidst other 19 contestants who vigorously vied for the prestigious position. Five other winners emerged alongside with her as queens with different crowns.
Having gone through the hurdles of audition, camp experience and finally the grand finale, Oyindamola brazed all challenges to top the list thus, making her the winner of the envious queen, not only clinching the crown but also landing herself to a new experience of Ambassadorial duty, business deals and owner of a brand new Toyota Avalon Car as a reigning queen. To her, it is a twist of fate.
“I had a long dream of been a Beauty Queen. I had tried my hands in modeling and when the opportunity came through calls for entry by Angeleyez, organisers of ‘FACE OF NIGERIA WORLD Beauty pageant, I said to myself, Can I go all the way? Really I doubted my ability but God gave me the confidence.
“The mentoring and counseling at the camp gave me reason to believe and fight till the end, after this feat, I have come to understand there is nothing you cannot achieve if you believe and work very hard. Life is a debacle of surprises, no matter what life throws at you, you can rise above it.” Oyindamola said.
She also confirmed that, “During the process, I had so many set-back and disappointments, and at a point I almost give up, but every time I get knocked down I remember why I started. My immense gratitude goes to my mother and siblings who supported me all the way and also my co-contestants who were very friendly all through the stay. It is a wonderful experience and I will stand to encourage aspiring pageant contesters to go for it. There is prize for every effort.” She said.
